JE Labs Open Baffle
This speaker is inspired by Joseph Esmilla's open baffle design. The specifications of the baffle is exactly as it appeared on JE's website with a nice finish courtesy of a friend's superb wood craftsman.
The 8-incher installed is an Altec 2459A, and while it does not have Alnico magnets to offer, this full-ranger makes good music in this configuration. This is an easy drive even for a 45 amplifier, which was a pleasant surprise.
Surprisingly, it does have decent bass, though not the type that creeps onto the floor, or pounds your chest. So unless your music is full scale classical, heavy metal or techno, this speaker does well.
